Forest professionals are regulated professions in all but two Canadian provinces (Manitoba and Prince Edward Island). As the umbrella group of the provincial regulators of professional forest practice, Forest Professional Regulators of Canada (FPRC) has developed programs and services to develop and deliver common practices across Canada.
To be considered for registration as a forest professional in Canada, an applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:
Have graduated from a two or four-year, science-based baccalaureate degree program, or equivalent,
Can demonstrate they meet the competencies of the current Certification Standards, and
Can demonstrate a commitment to professionalism.
FPRC's programs and associated assessment services provide a transparent, consistent and impartial basis for regulatory bodies across Canada to assess and verify an applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies for formal recognition as a registered forest professional.
